The ANMSM standing for "Association Nationale des Maires des Stations de Montagne", often referred to as Ski France is an association of french mountain resorts mayors which has several missions and goals... The ANMSM groups together one hundred mountain resorts divided between the five French massifs (ALPS, AUVERGNE, JURA, VOSGES and PYRENEES). Created in 1946, the ANMSM continues it’s work today focusing on two main objectives : 1 - To defend the "mountain specificities" of the resorts to the authorities and to represent their interests to Parliament and Central Government. 2 - To promote the resorts in France and abroad so that they maintain their position as one of the main tourist destinations. In the ANMSM, two commissions work to achieve these goals: 1 - The Administrative and Legal Commission study the technical, financial and legal issues linked to the management, development and amenities of the resorts. 2 - The Communication and Information Commission, Ski France. This commission is responsible for the communication and promotion of the 101 resorts under the label "Ski France", winter-summer ski resorts " in France and in Europe. Ski France is also responsible for maintaining internal communication between the 101 member resorts. Under the name “Mountain Resorts”, in the summer Ski France plays a leading role in the promotion of the mountains to the general public and French professionals as a destination. The commission creates and publishes interactive information tools for the winter and summer seasons : 1 - The free guide "La Montagne, ça vous gagne" brings together all of the activities, amenities and information needed for a well-prepared trip. 2 - The web site www.skifrance.fr in the winter and www.en-montagne.com in the summer give access to the mountains and their wealth of tourist interests for each season, enabling people to choose their preferred destination and resort and to prepare for their holidays.
